“Last year in October, after we moved to Houston, Tx, I started to decorate/design our contemporary home and to think of possible works of art for the house very tall walls. I had known about Gustavo Paris' work because my sister in law –an architect in Maracaibo, Venezuela– had bought his art for various of her design projects. From the beginning I fell in love with his work and his style, and his choice and combination of colors; but the walls and the design of our house required large scale pieces for specific places.
In one of his visits to Houston, Tx, we had the opportunity to meet and talk to Gustavo personally. And let me tell you that there is nothing like meeting the artist and feeling his sensibility and motivations for any given work of art.
Gustavo told us of his fascination for space and for the expanding and unknown universe, one that my husband and I share. We then commissioned Gustavo with two large pieces that we now own, and they are spectacular! For us, they resemble movement –birthing if you will–of a mysterious, puzzling and pleasing world that opens up in front of
your eyes when you look at it.
We must add that these works of art were delivered from Florida to our house in Houston in specially made wooden crates, where they were perfectly protected from any damaging factor.
We love our pieces and enjoyed them every single day, and could not be more grateful to Gustavo.”
